The success of your website blog depends on the quality of the articles and posts, most importantly, you need to ensure that your blog posts are of interest and actually offer something of value to the readers. This way, you can increase your followers and hopefully keep your readers coming back.
Some handy tips to make your posts interesting are listed below.
Keep the style Conversational
Make sure you maintain a conversational writing style by using personal pronouns like ‘I’ and ‘you’ etc. The main idea is to make the readers feel that you are directing the conversation to them rather than just narrating. This is the first and foremost thing to remember while writing blog posts.
Offer Contradictions
Contradicting things within your posts just as in real life will make your posts more interesting but also tempt readers into commenting with their own
views and opinions.
Write Short Sentences
Use short informative sentences that communicate your message clearly and briefly. Long sentences may bewilder your readers and make them lose interest in the contents.
Avoid Complex Vocabulary
Remember that your audiences may not be well versed and may not understand the complex terminology that you choose to use.
Include Humour
Nothing wins confidence and breaks the ice like humour. So introduce a touch of humour into your blog posts. It will appeal more to the readers and can put emphasis on the aim that of your post. Also, readers are likelier to remember and return.
Be Interactive
Just as you will keep up the conversational tone in your blog posts, you can also ask questions to get the readers more involved. This will make your readers feel like they are part of the conversation.

Why Minimalist Blogging Might Be Right For You
July 7, 2010 | Leave a Comment
When choosing a blog platform, 9 out 10 cases people will recommend you to go with WordPress. And 9 out 10 times I agree.
However, sometimes we should wonder if we need such a powerful software to power our simple blog? Thanks to the plugin system, you can transform WordPress in any kind of website you desire. But sometimes that’s just overkill.
If you just want to publish a few posts every now and then, why not use something simpler? Just because WordPress is the most popular blogging software doesn’t mean there aren’t other options.
And let’s be honest, how many people do you personally know that have been updating their blogs with regular content over a year? In my case, it’s zero.
In the beginning of their blogging adventure people publish (somewhat) on a frequent basis, but then they start subscribing “how to blog” blogs and spend so much time and energy on trivial things, the sparkle dies. That’s what happened to me.
In that cases, people should really go for something simpler and easier to manage and leave the unimportant things out of the equation. Forget about fancy plugins, sleek designs, social widgets and focus on what it matters which is communicating with your audience.
There are plenty of minimalist blogging platforms out there, but my favorite one is Tumblr.
It’s really simple to use, even easier than WordPress. You just have to choose what kind of post you want to create: text, photo, quote, link, chat or audio. Sometimes having less choices is good, especially if you blog from mobile devices.
If you never heard about Tunblr, create an account there and blog for thirty days. You really need to try it out for a while to make sure it suits you.

Bloggins in the 21st Century
July 5, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Blogging has changed and evolved into a way of social networking and communication. When blogging originally started, it was just a way for people to share information about specific topics that they considered themselves to be experts in. That was great, because you had highly relevant, and very authorative information aobut specific topics. The blogging world has changed. Now every person and their mother has a blog. There are blogs about almost anything. Im sure if you googled for a blog about cats, you would get some person’s diary of the life of their cat.
Blogging is now just a way of sharing your life, and not specific, relevant information. People use blogs as a personal diary of sorts, just letting the world know their thoughts, feelings and daily activities. They blog about the burger they had for lunch, or the toyota on the street that cut them off in traffic.
There are thousands of blogs, and even though some may provide no valuable information, even those can be humorous and a good waste of time if you are just sitting at home on a sunday afternoon.
