4 Tips to Enhance your Blog whether Business or Personal
August 1, 2010 | 1 Comment
Blogging could very well be the heartbeat of the virtual world, especially with social network posts just being little bites of blogs. Everyday people update their blogs, read their favorite blogs, comment on blogs, and maybe even look for some new blogs. This is a pretty powerful little tool so I wanted to share some history with you and then some tips on how you might enhance your blog.
People like to be heard and express themselves, whether through music, painting, dancing, or yes of course blogging. Regardless of popular opinion people like sharing what they Know for the benefit of others for whatever reasons. Not always blogs, they were first introduced as weblogs and they refered to a servers log file. Since its inception in the 1990s, web logging gradually spread across the virtual world making the internet a viable source of higher knowledge. Unfortunately, you would need a website and domains in order to utilize web logging, the average person was not versed enough in that area then or even now. So along came blogging, nothing special needed, a computer and an account with a blog provider. Which in most cases blogs were and are free of charge.
With blogging, personal journaling became very popular especially with people whp believed they were going to be known all over the world. The principal was there but on a smaller scale at the personal level. Blogs for personal use allow people to journal, keep a diary, in essence express themselves with words in a place where others could view it.
Even though today blogs are still mostly personal, marketers have seen the benefits in blogging and more and more business blogs are found on the internet all the time. For them it provides an entirely new platform to advertiseon and get the word out about the products they have. Business has not taken over blogs in any form but they are definitely a strong branch in the blogging tree. Furthermore, this tree has sprouted new things like lens’ and hubs, but those are articles in and of themselves.
Blogs have definitely proven to be a strong platform for business with definite sales stemming from them each and every day. If it were not for blogs, there are many websites and business sites that would be virtually unknown. Even individual entrepreneurs are able to brand themselves through blogging content that people feel is beneficial to their needs. After good content it only takes a link or hyper link and ecommerce thrives.
Finally, when you create your blog whether for personal or business use, here are a few tips that could make your blog more appealing to your traffic.
1. Capture your audience:
Your post should be on a specific topic and try and stay within that topic. Content is key, your readers are looking for something that is going to benefit them and if you have that it will keep their eyes on your page. Even personal blogs content is important whether entertaining or suspensful keep their interest peeked and they will stay on your page and may even return.
2. People are stimulated visually, especially men:
Make your post that much better and insert a picture. Preferably one that would go with your topic but it doesnt have to be, remember visually stimulate, and they will read on because of it. Dont use pornography unless your blog is on a secure site and dont use pictures that are private without permission, you will get yourself in a world of trouble.
3. Again content that is beneficial to your reader:
Dont jump from cooking to garden equipment in the same post, pick a topic and have good content. What is your reader looking for on your topic, that is what you want in your post.Word of mouth works online as well, your readers will tell people about your blog if it offers good content.
4. Depending on topic, you could make it interactive and get your reader involved:
Making your blog interactive just makes it a more memerable experience for your reader. Interactive could be as simple as allowing and asking for their comments and feedback. Place a poll on your blog and the feelings of your reader on your post or on future possible posts.
The most important tip I could give you is have fun with blogging, be honest, and dont be afraid to try new things.

2 Sources Of Free Blog Traffic That Still Works Today
July 24, 2010 | Leave a Comment
To earn revenue from your blog, you need traffic - alot of it. With a small flow of traffic to your blog, you will be destined to days and days of little to no earnings, and the possibility of your blog failing. But with a hefty flow of traffic to your blog, you will have the benefit of sunny days and a happier state of mind as your chances of earning money dramatically increases.
There are many ways to get traffic to your blog. Lazy marketers love the idea of only advertising to get traffic to their blog - which can be a good strategy - if you know your conversation rates and understand the math of your business. However if you dont, then you will have a few short days of comfort from all the traffic that your blog is getting, then the eventual shortage of traffic after all of your funds are depleted.
Luckily, there are tons of ways to get alot of traffic to your blog that doesn’t cost anything at all. And in this article, I’m going to share some of those ways with you.
Never do something if it doesn’t make sense to you. If you see a competitor in your niche advertising someplace month after month, and you know that ad slot is expensive, dont automatically assumed that you can succeed doing the same thing. You have no idea what the mechanics of their business is, and what things they’re doing behind the scenes to make their business profitable.
If you’re not willing to do everything that they’re doing to make your blog profitable, then you will have a tough time on your hand when your blog sales doesn’t recoup your advertisement investment.
Many beginner bloggers and novice internet marketers make the mistake of assuming that free marketing methods can’t bring alot of traffic to your blog the same way that paid advertising can. I myself was guilty of this idea 5 years ago when I first got started, and I found myself spending endlessly on pay per click campaigns with very little sales - but eventually a failed business.
Everytime.
And this happened for 3 years straight, until I finally got with the program and built my business from the ground up. It doesn’t matter how you get traffic. All that matters is if you’re making enough income to pay your rent and bills. After you have the sufficient income to do that, if you want to be a guru of some sort, then I guess you have the option of doing so.
But you cant start the other way around and expect to see satisfying results. Therefore right now, I’m going to share with you 2 of the same free traffic techniques I used (and still use) to get traffic, and that benefit me greatly in my online marketing efforts. Here’s my first free traffic method:
1) Article marketing
This method is great for generating traffic to your blog. What you do is you write articles that relate to your blog and submit them to the article directories. Preferably you want to write the articles yourself, as no one knows your business better than you do. But if you’re not a writer, you can outsource the writing to a freelancer.
No matter what you choose, your articles should be extremely beneficial to your target audience. The benefit here is that at the end of each article, you get to leave your blog information in the form of an “author byline”. This is how people will visit your blog. After you’ve written your article, you want to submit them to the article directories. Here are a few that I use myself:
- ezinearticles.com
- articlesbase.com
- goarticles.com
- articledashboard.com
- ideamarketers.com
This method is fantastic for generating alot of traffic to your blog. Here’s the other method that I highly recommend:
2) Forum Marketing
Forums contain people in your target audience all in one central location. All you have to do is join the community and provide your valuable content and insights related to your blog. This is a great way to become an expert in your niche. The more valuable information you share, the more people will want to find out more about you and the more visitors you will get to your blog.
One thing you want to make sure not to do is blatantly advertise your blog on the forum. This is an absolute no-no in the world of forums and is the fastest way to get banned from one. Stick with helpful information and ideas and the traffic will naturally come. It’s only natural that this will happen.
Using these 2 traffic sources can provide you with recurring traffic for years to come. I highly suggest you start using them today.

Creating User Friendly Business Blogs
July 17, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Considering that business blogs are created with the intent to make money doesn’t it make sense to make them user friendly? The blogging business can be and is very competitive therefore it stands to reason that the site should be developed with the blog reader in mind. Their visits should be positive experiences that include making the site easy to navigate. Site visitors should also be greeted with a layout that shouts ‘welcome’ or ‘come back’ since their loyalty will be what determines the success of the business itself.
Here are 5 details that need to be considered when creating a blog with the intention of earning an income from it.
Categories
It is always a good idea to categorize any content you post to the site. This makes it much easier for both the search engines and site visitors to find what they are looking for. Another benefit of categorizing your post is that you make older posts more readily available for viewing.
Easy to Subscribe
The point of creating a blog is to gain a loyal following to which you can promote goods and services if earning an income is your intention. With that said you want to make it as easy as possible for visitors to return to your platform. Be sure to prominently locate a subscribe button so people can pick up your rss feed.
Useful Content
Never forget that people come to your site for the content you post and not to be sold anything. It is therefore important to maintain your focus on continually creating and posting content that is useful to your readers.
‘Clean’ Layout
Do not ‘crowd’ your site with too many distractions such as banners ads or other forms of advertising like pop ups since this can be annoying to visitors. As just mentioned above reader satisfaction is your top priority and pummeling them with sales pitches is not the way to keep them happy.
Maintain a layout that is easy to navigate with a clean and professional appearance that is easy on the eyes. Remember your blog is a place of business and not a 3 ring circus!
A Little About ‘You’
Make easily available to all visitors a little background information about you or your business. Now you do not need to go in much detail here but share with people a little about your experience and how it relates to the theme of your site. Also make clear your intentions insofar as to why your blog was created and what you hope to achieve.
Business blogs are all about making money therefore ‘extra’ attention needs to be given to the ease, convenience and comfort of site visitors. Being that the blogging business can be very competitive certain details must be addressed when first creating a blog intended as a marketing platform. Yes money is a priority with these sites however the top priority remains the blog reader upon whom the business will be built. 5 details in particular should be addressed from day one on the blog and are discussed above. By making your site comfortable and pleasing to any and all visitors you will be increasing your chances of their return. With this loyalty you can then build yourself a viable and profitable blogging business.

Composing Blog Comments That Build Credibility
July 10, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Leaving well placed blog comments is a great way to accelerate the flow of traffic to your site. An important aspect of the blog building process is establishing links with other sites and when you post comments at other blogs you can do just that. The more incoming links your site has the more authority this projects to search engines and this tends to increase your rank along with the flow of free online traffic. Your site also gains more exposure by virtue of having your links imbedded in the comments you leave at other blogs. The key is to post comments that are both useful and professional in order for them to be of benefit.
Here are 3 blogging tips you should follow whenever you post comments on other blogs.
Be Helpful
Any remarks you leave should always be constructive or helpful in some form or fashion. To register negative remarks is not only disruptive but it also reflects badly on the person commenting. If you want to attract people over to your site do it with grace and show a willingness to contribute in a positive way. As the saying goes you get more with honey than you will with vinegar!
Identify Yourself
Always identify yourself by using your real name if you want your remarks to be taken seriously. Using an assumed identity when you post comments on other blogs only serves to dilute your credibility. If you stop and think about it how are you going to build trust and credibility if you feel the need to hide behind an assumed identity? Another drawback to using an ‘alias’ is that your remark will likely be rejected as spam and therefore not allowed.
Check Spelling and Grammar
In most cases the point of leaving remarks is to build your reputation and increase your exposure within the community. With that said you will want to be sure when you post comments that your spelling and grammar are both correct. Since the typical comment is relatively brief it will not take much time or effort to check these two areas. You do want to leave a good impression don’t you?
One other thing to consider is to not leave a lot of remarks on any one blog since this too can be perceived as spam thereby disallowing any of your remarks.
The blog comments you leave at the sites of others have a huge impact on your ability to build links. Establishing incoming links is an important component of the blog building process. Incoming links help to boost your search engine ranking along with the amount of free online traffic you receive. The blogging tips reviewed above offer 3 subtle suggestions on how best to comment on other blogs. By displaying a little professionalism and willingness to be helpful your comments will attract the attention of others. When they link back to your site you have now established another stream of traffic along with a growing reputation within the community!

Trying to get readers to stay on your weblog is often a talent many internet network marketers really don’t possess. This can be a blog traffic tip you need to take serious notice of and we employ a solution which may maintain folks on your website long enough to allow them to take a look at some of the offers you have.
It is a huge problem for many bloggers…many will tell you “I’m able to obtain site visitors to my blogging site and yet these people vanish rapidly once they have looked at the content I needed them to view.”
That’s common place but are you aware there is a approach that you can get them to stay around for a bit longer, possibly even an extra minute may be the significant difference between getting them to opt in to your opt-in list or making a sale.
Stickability Plugins
Plugins have become to bloggers what boots and shoes have become to fashion, they complete the looks. A plugin is an easy script which is added to your blog to perform a certain function. There’s a plugin for almost any process imaginable from SEO uses to creating sitemaps.
Stickability plugins are worth their weight in gold. They work by doing this…they furnish your site reader opportunities to additionally investigate your blog site once they’ve concluded looking at the article content they came for. For example, what if you could potentially offer your blog site traffic visitors a list of articles and reviews within your weblog that they merely click and be delivered to immediately.
Put simply, if your posting is about how to get blog targeted traffic and you’ve got a category on this very theme then a list of these content pieces would be seen at the conclusion of your posting connected to the write-up you just wrote.
The benefit of this is that instead of the website visitor proceeding somewhere else for more information they could basically stay on your site and understand it properly there. And using this method the chances of these people spotting a banner or advertisement on your site that might attract their awareness heightens and that is what you need them to achieve.
Fortunately these plug ins are usually free of charge and one of the better ones available at this time is Yet Another Related Posts Plugin. They are easy to include and set up and give you the capacity to help keep your website visitors on your website for a longer time.
This can be a blog traffic technique that quite a few ignore yet it is one you need to actually consider trying. Gaining lots of blogging site traffic is your aim however having them to remain around for a specified duration to notice the other “bells and whistles” on your internet site is another. This can be a effective remedy.
