Blogging for Profit, Make extra money from home
September 5, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Blogging for Profit Begins With a Long Term Plan
A wide range of people dream of blogging for profit and how to make extra money from home, and this goal is not far beyond the reach of someone with average intelligence, a willingness to work hard, and a basic grasp of blogging technology. However, very few people manage to reap the profits they want from their blog. Most people who attempt to make money with their blogs do not succeed for two reasons.
Often, bloggers have unrealistic expectations of how fast their readership will grow and how much money they will make, and when these expectations are not met the disappointment can crush the desire to continue blogging. The other trap that many bloggers fall into has to do with lack of planning. If you want to turn a profit as a blogger, the key to success is to make a realistic plan and stick with it.
To succeed at blogging for profit, the main thing that you will need is a large readership. The higher your traffic, the more advertisers will agree to pay you.
However, cultivating the regular visitors that you will need in order to make a profit isn’t easy. As more and more blogs appear on a daily basis, having a great idea or a wonderful writing style is no longer enough to get
attention. You need to be able to market your blog effectively.
Too many bloggers spend all of their time writing posts and almost no time marketing their project. To be certain, updating as often as you can is a great way to keep your blog high on blogrolls and high in blog search engines like technorati, and once your readers know that you update consistently they will return to your site on a regular basis. However, it does not matter how often you update if nobody is reading your page, so dont skimp on the time that you spend drawing visitors to your site.
To make your dreams of blogging for profit a reality, try cutting down your number of posts and using some of that time to draw new visitors by setting up link exchanges with other bloggers, making contacts in the blog community, and following other established modes of winning traffic.
Of course, even if you are a marketing genius or have a really great idea for a blog, becoming successful is not going to happen overnight. Building the kind of readership that blogging for profit requires takes time, and in all likelihood it will be at least a few months before you are able to turn much of a profit. Try to stay committed to your blogging project during this initial rough time.
To stay motivated, set goals for how often you will update and how many readers you want to attract, and then reward yourself for sticking with your plan.
It’s good to blog but if you do, make sure you blog about something useful, something interesting for your viewers, give them a reason to visit first and then a reason to stay and read, who knows, they may even keep returning back and this is the magic formula to blogging or any type of website, get visitors to come, stay and then return time and time again.
If you want to make money from blogs you can, you can make extra money from home just like this 25 year old who is already making thousands of dollars every month and is one of the world’s foremost blogging experts.

A Hybrid Approach to Autoblogging
September 5, 2010 | Leave a Comment
While a lot of my sites are autoblogs, I have observed a little something recently. I own a couple of websites with a good amount of unique content, in the form of articles that I authored myself, plus some with a combination of my own content and articles from the UAW plugin. I’m going to be honest; these sites which include original content do beat my autoblogs when it comes to income.
Now, writing original content alone is not sufficient to acquire love from Google. It is the search engines mantra, but it’s essentially a crock of b.s,. Not long ago I read a post from Michael Grey where he outlined how he produced fantastic content over a six-month time period, even making it to the front page of Digg on five occasions, and he nevertheless received very little love from the search engines.
So what’s the best approach then? Autoblogging, or creating unique content? What about combining both?
Produce a few autoblogs, wait two-to-three months to wait for the website to break out of the search engine dance, and take note from Awstats from your server what your most viewed pages are. Then, from your data you’ve received from Awstats, perform some further research into specific search terms and look for what your competitors do when it comes to getting those keywords to rank. Now, armed with this data, go ahead and create some original articles for your website. You won’t have wasted a bunch of commitment writing and submitting articles about key phrases that nobody has any interest in. Or else keywords that have lots of interest, but they don’t turn into sales, because visitors are just searching for free information about that keyword.
If you’re super lazy, you do not have to write the original content yourself. Just use the keywords you found out of your Awstats which are obtaining Google love, and rely on them to add extra posts to your website with your autoblogging plugin. I did this very thing for one site in July, and my AdSense earnings doubled for that site in which I made use of this plan.
Needless to say, it goes without saying that when you discover your winning pages and add content for that keyword, it’s not going to do you much good if you don’t implement a significant back linking campaign. Don’t go insane and try to back link every page in your website, just the ones that show promise in terms of page views and earnings.
Put into action this tactic, and view your earnings rise.

3 Easy Steps to Blogging For Profit - Micro Niche Blogs
September 3, 2010 | Leave a Comment
Micro niche blogs are all the rage these in the internet marketing world these days. Successful blogs sell for great prices on site flipping marketplaces, but I am going to show you how to start blogging for profit using the micro niche techniques. This process involves 3 steps:
1. Keyword Research. Use a free tool such as Google Keyword Tool and type up some keywords on the niche you would like to go for. This can be a physical product or a ClickBank product kind of niche, Find long tail keywords (3-7 words) that get at least 1000 product name searches or more per month. Make sure to select phrase search option rather than the default broad search. When you phrase search your keyword in Google by putting it in double quotes, there should be less than 25-30.000 competing sites coming up in the results. It is possible to get rankings for higher competition keywords, but as beginners we want to pick the low hanging fruit. There should also be plenty of AdSense ads displaying when you search this keyword, this means there is money in it. After deciding on your main keyword, pick a few more keywords related to this niche.
2. Domain registration and blog setup. Buy a domain consisting of your long tail keyword, Go for as.com domain since those rank the best. If that is not available,.net or.org is acceptable but.com is what you should go after. If it’s not available for your main keyword, then consider a synonym keyword (matching our monthly search, competition and profits criteria) or one of your secondary keywords.
Do not get an.info domain, they are very affordable but it’s extremely difficult to get them ranked in search engines. Since we are blogging for profit, we want to get the domain we can rank rather fast, Next step is to get a hosting service such as Hostgator. Do not use free blogs, these get deleted and shut down all the time, and your profits will vanish overnight.
If you are serious about blogging for profit, then get your own domain and hosting to avoid the frustration later. Once you get these squared, download the all in one SEO plugin and other WordPress plugins useful for affiliate marketing, Amazon and eBay marketing purposes. Pick a simple free theme for the start the blog. You can always purchase a premium theme later on. if you are going mostly for AdSense, I recommend using the free version of Heatmap theme since it makes it extremely easy to set up AdSense ads on your blog.
3. Content generation and monetization. Write a few 300-400 word articles for your main keyword and at least one article for each one of your secondary keywords. Make sure the content is unique and provides value to the customer. Make sure to watch out for the keyword density and do not mention your keyword more than 2-3 times in the article body. Set up your WordPress to schedule posting these articles weekly or couple times a week. Ping and social bookmark it each time new content is posted. Write shorter, watered down versions of your articles and regularly submit those to article directories.
Set up a Google AdSense account and get AdSense codes to post on your site. Then go on Amazon & eBay and set up an affiliate accounts there. If you are promoting ClickBank or other e-products, get an affiliate code for those as well. You can set up affiliate accounts for most major product vendors for digital or physical products. A good strategy is to add the multiple link AdSense ads and the large Amazon recommended products widget to your site. However, take care not to stuff it too much with AdSense, we don’t want have more ads than content.
After you complete this steps, the next thing to do is to promote your site in the blogosphere, social media, article directories and free classifieds sites.

The truth is blogging is a great way to get traffic and if you are not blogging you are missing out. Why blogging?

And honestly blogs are just too search engine friendly to do anything else.

Onlywire, PingFM and HelloTXT are services that allow you to manage your social networking sites for free. You simply sign up and or eneter your details and then use a wordpress plugin to automatically post to these sites every time you post a new blog post.
Some of these services have around 50 accounts you can use. Smells like instant traffic to me.
Another great tip for instant web traffic is to submit your RSS (really simple syndication) feeds. Now this may seem a little silly but RSS feeds are powerful for link love.
The thing is that if you are already blogging then every time you make a new post and tag it each tag has a new RSS feed. So do your comments, your main blog feed as well as categories.
Submit all of these RSS feeds to the popular directives and you will have a lot more traffic instantly and improve your search engine optimization on the long run.
A fresh tip for more SEO link popularity and more immediate website traffic is to take all of your RSS feeds and use a service like RSSMix to combine them into one master feed.
Submit your mater feed just like your baby feeds and you are going to see a lot of love from the search engines as well as getting some quick traffic.

2. Minimize dynamic PHP and database queries
Try to replace PHP queries with HTML code. Fow example you can replace PHP query in your header.php file of your theme with static HTML code.
Try to put static path of your CSS and javascript files instead of referring them by PHP script as shown below
@import url( );
3. Update Regularly
Update your WordPress regularly because every update comes with performance enhancement.
4. Disable Unused Plugins
Disable unused plugins which are activated but your don’t want those.
5. Reduce White-Spaces
Reducing white-spaces will improve loading time of your page.
Example of whitespace:
.theme font-family: Georgia, Times, serif; font-size: 15px; color: #2233FF;
Example with less whitespace:
.theme font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 15px; color: #2233FF;
6. Use external Scripts
Use external javascripts and avoid writing script in header page because if external script will be there then browser will load that script in cache and pages will take less time if it is using same script.
Example of using external script
7. Make static URLs
Make following URL static in your header.php file
Stylesheet URL
Pingback URL
feed URL
8. Remove Generator code
Remove WordPress version display from header.php i.e.
9. Minimize external website’s scripts
Try to minimize external call of Amazon, eBay, facebook, twitter, digg, etc. If possible try to put simple link to these since if you are putting javascript code for button of these then your page will take lot of time to load.
10. Reduce image size
Check your images size including logo. Try to minimize size of logo (here I mean reducing image size in KB not in its dimension)
11. Display less posts per page
Try to display less number of posts in home page or category page. You may put page number button to open next page for displaying more posts.
12. Host images/media on other server
Try to host your images on image hosting server like flickr, photobucket etc. These server have capability to handle lot of load which your small/shared server can’t.
13. Don’t upload videos on your server
Do not upload videos on your server. Upload your videos on youtube.
14. Compress Scripts
Compress your JavaScript upto 60% from here.
15. Compress CSS
Compress your CSS by using this plugin.
16. Validate your page
Validate your blog/page from W3C to find any issue which might be making your blog too slow.
17. Use progressive rendering
Use progressive rendering by loading CSS file at the top of your page and loading JavaScript at the bottom of your page (near end of HTML tag )
18. Use IFrameWidget plugin
You may use IFrameWidgets WordPress Plugin that can stop slow loading JavaScript widgets from breaking your page.
19. Repair your database
Use this WordPress plugin to repair your database by checking all tables and fix and errors.

Use WP Super Cache WordPress Plugin to cache your pages so that no need to dynamically create page every-time.
